ADOVE PHOTOSHOP CREATIVE CLOUD NEWS. YOU CAN NO LONGER BUY ADOBE PHOTOSHOP

Yes you read the title right, you won’t be able to buy Adobe Photoshop anymore. Adobe announced this year that The Adobe Master Collection Creative Suit 6 (CS6) will be the last full product that you will be able to buy. Instead they came with Adobe Creative Cloud (Adobe CC) a subscription only system.
What are the differences between the old Adobe software system and the new Adobe Creative Cloud? As we know ADOBE MASTER COLLECTION CS6 which includes Photoshop CS6, Photoshop CS6 Extended, Illustrator CS6, InDesign CS6, Adobe Muse, Acrobat X Pro, Flash Professional CS6, Flash Builder 4.6 Premium, Dreamweaver CS6, Edge Animate , Edge Reflow, Edge Code, Premiere Pro CS6, After Effects CS6, Audition CS6, Speed Grade CS6, Prelude CS6, Encore CS6, Bridge CS6, Media Encoder CS6 costs around $ 2,500 USD, is not on sale anymore by Adobe. The new Adobe CC includes 12 different programs updated like always trying to optimize their products.
Now the big change is on the purchasing system you are not able to buy it anymore the new Creative Cloud is based on a subscription only model. The full CC is $ 49.99 a month (on yearly contract). That comes out to $600 a year to access every single software title Adobe makes available. Now if you are like the majority who only uses Photoshop or any other software you can purchase any single software in the Creative Cloud for $ 19.99 a month which is $ 240 a year.
In the past if you purchased the software it was completely yours, it never expired, you could continue to use it even after the new version came out. This was great for a lot of amateur users who do not need a new upgrade every year. But for the professional photographers whose Photoshop is like their right hand and always get the latest update this is great. In this case you are just renting the software and every time a new update comes the price will remain the same if you choose not to re-up you no longer have access to the programs.
If you do the math it was $ 2,500 every new software and they come up with upgrades yearly, the new system is $ 600 a year so this means that what you pay on the old system for one upgrade will be the equivalent to more than 4 years of subscription. In other words with what you had paid for one upgrade you will now get 4, in my opinion this is great for those who pay the full program.
I think one major issue is that $ 19.99 a month for a single software is too much. I think $ 10 a month is fair for those who only use Photoshop. $ 240 a year is a lot more than what beginners can afford to expend on a software.
Now why is Adobe moving to a subscription only system? I will like to point out that Adobe is not the first company to do this. First they wanted to focus on developing the best products possible which now is Creative Cloud. Another reason and one of the mayor for them is trying to control the pirate copies which will never end but this new system will sure cut the amount of people using the software without paying. And finally a third reason is being able to update their software whenever a new feature is ready instead of waiting 18 months for the next product cycle, and this in my opinion is the most important.
I have done some research reading the opinions and reactions of users to this new thing and there are a lot of question like “Can you work on the software when you are not online?”  Yes. They said that you van be 99 days without being connected to the internet before your software locks you out. “Can you use your account on multiple computers?” Yes. All you have to do is log into your creative cloud account form any computer anywhere and all of your settings and shortcuts are right there for you to use. This is a really cool feature and something new I think is well worth it. “If I stop paying will I lose all my files?” No. Your files will remain there however you might not be able to open them without the software.
I tried to cover some of the most common question out there so don’t freak out this is a new thing and a lot of people think it is complicated but it is really not, give it sometime and everything will be normal .
If you have any questions feel free to ask them on the comments section. I will try to answer them.
